SELECTION is a prestige science-fiction drama rooted in ecological concern, exploring governance, survival, and the moral mathematics of extinction.  

 

Our story takes place in a technologically advanced Anchorage, Alaska - fifty years into the future when climate change has forced drastic measures upon the world.

 

In this society of tomorrow, all citizens must participate in a mandated “jury duty” for population control.  Individuals have the option to register and face low odds of euthanization OR leave the city’s borders for an outside world that is dying.  For those sacrificed, the reward is a lifetime abstention from future selections to bestow upon any fellow citizen - a motivating proposition for families.  Our series centers on ten strangers who occupy a waiting room before being interviewed for their very own “selection.”
